Polson girls win title
POLSON – The Whitefish boys’ and Polson girls’ golf teams won the Northwestern A divisional tournament that was held at Polson Bay Golf Course on Thursday.
Three of the top five individual finishers on the boys’ side were Bulldogs, led by medalist winner Arthur Doorn, who carded a 73 to edge teammate Reed Platke by two strokes.
Whitefish finished with a score of 315. The conference newcomer, Frenchtown (358), was runner-up.
On the girls’ side, Polson golfers combined for a score of 354, which was 36 strokes ahead of Whitefish.
The Pirates put four golfers in the top five, but Whitefish’s Erin Tabish earned top individual honors with an 81.
Polson’s Nicole Clairmont was next at 86.
The top 15 individuals move on to the State A tourney in Hamilton next week.
