Whitefish’s Kahle top golfer with 72 at C-Falls Invitational

COLUMBIA FALLS — Cameron Kahle of Whitefish won his second golf title in two days on Wednesday with an even-par 72 in the Columbia Falls Invitational at Meadow Lake Golf Club. Kahle finished five shots ahead of Bryce Reed of Hamilton. Polson’s Trey Kelley was third with a 78.Those were the only golfers to break 80. Kahle won the Western A Kickoff Invitational on Tuesday at Whitefish Lake Golf Club with a 1-over par 73. Hamilton took the team title with a 341 total. Whitefish was second and 10 shots back. Macee Greenwood of Corvallis shot an 80 to edge Ella Shaw of Whitefish for medalist honors on the girls side by two shots. Cali Cannon of Polson was third, 84. Corvallis claimed the team title with a 394 total. Polson was a distant second, 430.

Columbia Falls, Polson and Whitefish are back in action today at the Ronan Invitational at Mission Mountain Golf Course.

RONAN — Macee Greenwood of Corvallis and Bryce Reed of Hamilton both shot 70 en route to medalist honors for girls and boys on Thursday at the Ronan Invitational golf tournament at Mission Mountain Golf Course.  Greenwood finished 18 shots ahead of the field.  Corvallis, 381, took the team title with Polson, 397, second.  Cali Cannon led Polson with a 94, which tied her for fifth place.  Reed finished five shots ahead of the field and helped Hamilton take the team title with a 295 score. Frenchtown, 332, was second and Columbia Falls, 352, third.  Hamilton golfers finished 1-2-3-4 individually.  Polson’s Trey Kelley shot 77 to place fifth.

Kelley golden, Thiel, Cannon top ten at Polson

At Polson familiarity translated into optimal performances as some Mission Valley area golfers carded among their lowest scores of the season at the Polson Invitational.

For the boys, Polson’s Trey Kelley took medalist honors, while Corvallis’ Macee Greenwood captured first for the girls. Tying for fourth on their backyard course were Ellie Thiel and Cali Cannon of Polson, while Ronan’s Kylee Niemeyer made the top fifteen. Whitefish took the team title for the girls, while Hamilton captured the top spot for the boys. The Polson girls placed third, while Ronan captured fifth. The Polson boys came in sixth, while the Ronan golfers tied eighth.

Hamilton Invitational

Golf Hamilton ‘s boys and the Corvallis girls were victors at the Hamilton Invite on Saturday. Tristan Hanson, Bryce Reed and Tanner Hanson took first through third place for the Broncs to lead Hamilton to the team win.

Tristan Hanson shot a 69 while Reed and Tanner Hanson each shot a 75 to technically tie for second.

Frenchtown’s boys were second followed by Whitefish which was third.

On the girls side, sophomore Macee Greenwood continues to dominate at every meet she competes in. Greenwood shot a winning score of 71 which was 15 strokes better than the second-place finisher. Corvallis edged out Whitefish 364 to 368 to win the tournament while Polson finished third as a team. Ella Shaw of Whitefish and Ellie Thiel of Polson rounded out the top three.

At Kalispell midweek last week, Polson’s Trey Kelley distinguished himself amidst a large contingent of AA golfers by placing third at the two-day Kalispell Invitational held on two courses. Kelley was only one stroke back from the leader after the first day. The Lady Pirate girls put a trio among the top fifteen finishers.

2019 ‘A’ DIVISIONAL RESULTS

WESTERN ‘A’

The Hamilton boys and Whitefish girls won the team titles Thursday at the Western A Divisional golf tournament at King Ranch Golf Course in Frenchtown. The Hamilton boys finished with a team score of 324, 11 strokes better than second place Whitefish. Frenchtown was third at 339. Cameron Kahle of Whitefish took boys medalist honors with a round of 72. Tristan Hanson of Hamilton, teammateBryce Reed and Frenchtown’s Colby Emmons were next in line at 79. The Whitefish girls tallied 379 to edge out Corvallis with 391. Frenchtown was third at 413. Ella Shaw of Whitefish and Macee Greenwood of Corvallis topped the girls standings with rounds of 85. Jill Sure Chief of Browning was next at 89. The top four teams and top 30 individuals qualify for the state tournament, which will be held next week at Laurel Golf Club.
